General Data

NOJAX® is the Viskase trademark for small diameter cellulose casings. NOJAX Casings are presented in the form of shirred sticks designed for the production of small diameter sausages such as Frankfurters, Strasbourg, Wieners, dry mini salamis or coarse ground fresh sausages such as Chipolatas, Toulouse or Mettenden types. NOJAX Casing is suitable for high speed, automatic stuffing machines, as well as for manual stuffing operations.

NOJAX Casings are manufactured to ensure optimal performance on today's most modern high speed production lines, and are known in the industry as the most reliable casings available.

Given the variety of applications and equipment existing on the market, the exact NOJAX Casing presentation needed (ie: casing length per stick, stick length and stuffing horn outside diameter) should be chosen with your Viskase sales representative.

Any NOJAX size is available in the EP (Easy-Peel) version to ensure perfect peelability.

NOJAX Casing is shirred in various stick and casing lengths to fit a wide variety of customer applications. Standard NOJAX lengths are between 55 and 160 feet (19 to 55 meters) per stick. Standard stick lengths are between 267 and 400 mm.

NOJAX sticks are available in either the CE (Closed-End) version, for use with automatic stuffing equipment, or the non-CE version for manual stuffing on traditional equipment, which may or not be equipped with twist linkers.

In order to differentiate productions or be ensured of a thorough peeling of the sausages, NOJAX Casing can be delivered with four stripes (white, red, blue and green).

For special applications, NOJAX Casings can be supplied with a one-colour print.
